Business License

Licenses run on a May 1 to April 30 cycle. Renewal notices are mailed each spring to the address of record. Rates are set by class based on gross receipts for the preceding calendar year.

Contractors performing work on the Island must present a license before permits are issued. Short-term rental operators are licensed separately through the Zoning Department.

Applications and renewals are accepted at Town Hall or by mail. Payment by check or money order should be made payable to the Town of Sullivan's Island. Staff can answer questions about classification and fees by phone during business hours.
